Zo start over een kleine maand de Rugby Europe Championship 2023 voor zowel de Oranje Heren als de Dames! Voor de Oranje Heren start de REC met een uitwedstrijd in en tegen Spanje op zondag 5 februari 2023. Een week later, op zaterdag 11 februari 2023, krijgen de mannen van bondscoach Lyn Jones bezoek van Georgië. De poulefase wordt vervolgens op 18 februari afgesloten met een uitwedstrijd tegen Duitsland. De Oranje Dames spelen in een poule van drie landenteams. Op zaterdag 11 februari 2023 komt Zweden op bezoek. Een week later, op zaterdag 19 februari 2023, wacht een wedstrijd in en tegen Spanje. |

| De Rugby Europe Championship (REC) bestaat dit jaar voor het eerst acht teams. Oranje is ingedeeld in poule A samen met Georgie, Duitsland en Spanje. Afhankelijk van de eindklassering in deze poule speelt Nederland een kruisfinale tegen een land uit groep B, bestaande uit Roemenië, Polen en Portugal. De winnaars van beide poules nemen het in de grote finale op tegen de runner-ups van de andere poule. Hetzelfde geldt in dezelfde volgorde voor de nummers drie en vier uit beide groepen. Wanneer Nederland de poule wint of derde wordt, volgt dus sowieso nog een thuiswedstrijd in Amsterdam. Alle wedstrijden zijn ook live te zien via de website van Rugby Europe en op ZiggoSport! | Dear Rugby fan, With this mail, we would first like to wish you a healthy and sporty 2023! For Dutch enthusiasts of the game it promises to be a very nice year, with some great matches to look forward to. In just under a month, the Rugby Europe Championship 2023 will start! Both the Dutch Men as Women will compete in this competition. For the Orange Men, the REC starts with an away game in and against Spain, on Sunday Feb. 5 2023. A week later – Saturday, Feb. 11, to be exact – national coach Lyn Jones’ men will be visited by Georgia. The group stage then concludes on Saturday Feb. 18 with an away game against Germany. The Orange Ladies will play in a pool of three country teams. On Saturday Feb. 11 2023, Sweden will visit. A week later, on Saturday 19 Feb. 2023 a match in and against Spain awaits. |

| Rugby Europe Championship finals |
| The Rugby Europe Championship (REC) consists of eight teams for the first time this year. The Netherlands is assigned to Pool A along with Georgia, Germany and Spain. Depending on the final ranking in this pool, The Netherlands will play a cross final against a country from Group B, consisting of Romania, Poland and Portugal. The winners of both pools will take on the runner-ups of the other pool in the Grand Finals. The same goes in the same order for the numbers three and four from both groups. If the Netherlands wins the group or finishes third, there will be another home match in Amsterdam. All matches can also be seen live on the Rugby Europe website and ZiggoSport!
